Amidst the madness of 2020, when nothing is certain and we all struggle to find hope for the future, “Rabbit Hole” couldn’t be more timely. In fact, it could easily be the soundtrack to Netflix’s The Social Dilemma. In the driving beat, futuristic sounds, and poignant lyrics, Orth weaves together current issues such as technology addiction, distraction, deception, and the quest for truth. “Rabbit Hole” is the first single and the title track of her upcoming full length album, due out 12/4/2020.
Orth writes with a strong sense of self and a fierce feminist perspective, telling stories about alienated humanity and visions of a better tomorrow. In “Rabbit Hole,” Orth says she’s taking on “how deeply social media, filters, and photoshop impact humans’ interactions with each other, with reality, and with the natural world. And while technology has allowed us to have a voice whenever and wherever, most of us have become dependent on it for a sense of worth. And we can’t seem to turn away from these forces that direct us how to think, live, and even love.”

RABBIT HOLE
post, click, like like happy pills
then crash, burn whenever you begin to feel
something real
lost, you reach for your sex robot
programmed it to look a lot like her
nothing but quite like her
falling down, falling down, falling down
rabbit hole, rabbit hole
falling down, falling down, falling down
rabbit hole
seduction, stimulation by perfection
no past, future, just this instant
then instantly forgotten
filter it, synthesize it, sterilize it
supersize the lies until
we believe they’re real
falling down, falling down, falling down
rabbit hole, rabbit hole
falling down, falling down, falling down
rabbit hole
you don’t have to talk
you don’t have to think anymore
you don’t even have to love
you don’t even have to love anymore
don’t love anymore
falling down, falling down, falling down
rabbit hole, rabbit hole
falling down, falling down, falling down
rabbit hole
